Attention! Extensions!

Helloooooooooo Nurse! Most of those sexy ladies you see in magazines with their long luscious hair and their fluffy eyelashes are for sure beautiful, but usually have some enhancers (not to mention PhotoShop...) to add sex appeal! Hair extensions are used a lot in photo shoots, runway shows, and everyday life! There are many different reasons to have hair extensions: to add length, to add fullness, or to cover a bad chop job. There are different types of extensions: clip-in, individual bonds, taped, or sewn.
First thing's first, you don't want people to notice that you have extensions. A dead give away is the color; matching the color as close as you can is key. Another dead give away is after your extension specialist installs them, they look extremely long, blunt, and like you are wearing noodles on your head. Please don't be a victim of Spaghetti Head! The way to fool everyone is to get a good haircut! I know it may sound strange to cut your hair after you just bought hair and finally have the length and fullness you've been yearning for, but it is crucial to have the extensions flow with your own hair. Keeping the length is easy, but everything else needs to flow together. Getting a nice haircut makes a world of difference. When you have a good haircut you can wear your hair air-dried, straight, curly, wavy or up in a ponytail. There is a special technique that needs to be used while cutting extensions: you cannot treat it like regular hair. Be careful of who you allow to work on your hair after you've put thousands of dollars into hair and installation. Here is a good example:
NO :(

The photo below was taken today at Cristophe Salon BH. Lovely Carolyn was on her way to a photo shoot, so I curled and added some clip-in extensions to add fullness to her sexy trestles! Stay tuned for shots from Carolyn's photo shoot, they will be posted soon!!!

Amy Winehouse R.I.P.

Amy Winehouse had one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. Unfortunately, a lot of very talented musicians have deceased too young, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, and Hank Williams... Amy was found dead in her London apartment at age 27.
Amy had one of the coolest styles, very rockabilly-chic, and we will never forget her hair! Amy Winehouse you will be missed and never forgotten. R.I.P.

David Beckham's hair IS sexy....

Who doesn't like David Beckham? Any guy wouldn't mind looking like him, and any girl wouldn't mind being with him. He has the face to wear any look, but this one in particular is my favorite! To achieve this look, maintaing cropped sides and leaving it a little longer and texturized top will do the trick! After shampooing, towel dry, get as much moisture out as you can. Use Cristophe's Texturizing Fiber Paste, or Oribe's Original Pomade. Take a dime size in the palm of your hand and rub both hands together. using your fingers as a comb, put the paste/pomade in your hair to add the finishing touches for your Sexy Man look! If you don't have the right haircut, you won't be able to achieve this look! I am specializing in Men's Haircutting, come visit me at Cristophe Salon! Have a relaxing time with an amazing shampoo by Pauline, and a glass of champagne. Don't drink? We serve LAMILL coffee, cappuccinos, lattes, and espresso...!!!! Yummy!!!

A Summer Saturday @ Cristophe Salon

Kayla

Kayla has naturally very, very straight hair. When she came in, her hair was down to her bellybutton with no layers. If your hair is too long, it becomes heavy and lays flat on top of your head. She told me she had not cut her hair in 2 1/2 years! I trimmed off about three inches and gave her some layers. Her hair became full of life! I was able to give her a blow out with waves because her hair was not as heavy anymore. She posted her new look on Facebook and instantly got 30 likes with 20 comments! Thanks Kayla, see you back at Cristophe Salon in 2-3 months for a trim!

Alexandra

Alex has curly hair and a lot of new hair growing in. The ends of her hair are pretty fine, until the new hair grows enough to catch up to the ends. I started by giving her a L'oreal Power Repair B treatment- instantly repairs fragile, sensitive, lifeless hair. After rinsing the treatment out, I gave her a bare minimum trim on her ends because she did not want to loose any length. I layered her hair in the front more than in the back. With curly hair, its important to not layer your hair too much other wise your ends can end up looking very thin. Layers in the front are important because it adds style and body to your curly locks. Just remember- the shorter you go, the curlier your hair will get! I gave her a sleek, smooth blow out with movement on her ends! She called me the next day to tell me how smooth and strong her hair feels! Thank you Alex, I want to see you every 6 weeks at Cristophe Salon for a hair treatment and a bare minimum trim to get those locks strong and keeping your look fresh!

Tangled

Tangled Trestles
Don't stress out your hair by ripping through your tangled trestles! Brushing vigorously through your knots will cause breakage, and your hair will loose it's shine and elasticity! To aviod this you only need three things:
1. A heavy conditioner. I recommend Absolut Repair by L'oréal. You can purchase it online or pick-up at your local Cristophe Salon.
2. A wide-tooth comb will work. For best results use the Tangle Teezer, a brush specially made for knotted hair.
3. Patience! Don't get frustrated and break your beautiful hair! Take your time, really understand that this will help keep your trestles shiny, bouncy, and touchable!

Starting with damp hair, apply conditioner to the ends of your locks, working your way up the tangles. With your comb or special Tangle Teezer, start combing your hair at the ends and gradually work your way up. This way your hair will be less likely to break and it won't be painful. Take one section at a time and keep your cool! No matter what kind of hair you have - curly, straight, wavy, highlighted, colored, relaxed - this is your beautiful hair and we want to keep it beautiful!
To Avoid Tangles--------
If you have unruly hair and it becomes tangled easily, wear one or two braids to bed. A braid will help hold your hair together overnight, and your hair will look chic and stylish when you unravel it in the morning!
It's summertime and I know you ladies are at the beach or the pool! If you plan on going swimming and are afraid of looking like a wet, tangled mess when you get out, wet your hair before you jump in that water. Wetting your hair beforehand will keep it from drying out because your hair won't soak up as much of the chlorine or saltwater! If you want to take extra precaution, apply a leave-in conditioner to your wet hair before jumping in!
Enjoy!
